According to what the reliable financial source Forbes (via MilanNews) are reporting, Milan’s sale took place officially at the back end of August this year as Gerry Cardinale’s fund RedBird Capital bought the club for $1.28bn (virtually the same in euros).
This also has an impact on the sale of the Rossoneri’s rivals, Inter, as a sports banker familiar with the Nerazzurri’s finances stated: “The way in which RedBird has worked to raise capital for Milan will make things difficult for Inter.”
The position of the Nerazzurri does not seem very good compared to that of their cousins because Milan announced their financial results for the 2021-22 year last week and are in a ‘much better’ financial situation, as the Diavolo lost only $30m last year and have only $28m in net debt, against Inter’s $354m.
