CM: Similarities with Osimhen, prolific in Europe – Milan target Union SG sensation

AC Milan have a new target for their list of forwards in Victor Boniface of Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, who has been dubbed the ‘next Osimhen’ by some.

Calciomercato.com have published some background of Boniface, who Milan’s latest idea for the summer window as he continues to shine for USG, having scored 19 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions this season.

Firstly, his role, nationality, home city (Lagos) and even first name is the same as that of Osimhen. If it weren’t for size and age – given Boniface is two years younger and a few centimeters taller – there would be even more coincidence.

Boniface’s career started in Nigeria with Real Sapphire but as soon as he hit 18 he moved to Bodo/Glimt in 2019, the same club Jens Petter Hauge came from. In his three years there he played alongside Botheim (now at Salernitana) and Solbakken (at Roma).

Before leaving Bodo/Glimt and moving to Union Saint-Gilloise he played in the Champions League preliminaries, scoring four goals across two games against Klaksvik and another against Linfield before absent in the two legs against Rangers. Five goals became 10 thanks to the other give scored in the Europa League with USG.

Boniface is a great friend of another Nigerian striker who plays in Belgium, namely Gent’s Gift Orban, who scored three goals in four minutes in the last round of the Conference League and has also been linked with Milan.
