Sky Germany: Theo could be ‘off the table’ for Bayern due to renewal talks

Theo Hernandez could be ‘off the table’ as an option for Bayern Munich as they are in renewal talks with Alphonso Davies, a journalist has claimed.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Theo in recent weeks, with L’Equipe even claiming recently that he has made decision to leave Milan when the summer mercato opens after five years at the club.

The motivation, as per the paper, is linked to the player’s desire to take the next step in his career, a career which so far has seen Atletico Madrid B, Alavés, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Milan.

Bayern Munich have been mentioned as being interested by virtually every major source, although it is dependent on them selling Davies to Real Madrid given the funds that it would require.

According to what is being reported by Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Bayern are ‘still cautiously optimistic’ that they can achieve an agreement with Davies and his entourage over a new long-term contract beyond 2025.

Regarding the salary issue, both parties are moving towards a meeting point and the Bavarian club will improve their offer. In the meantime, there is still no concrete bid from Real Madrid.

He adds: “If Davies extends his contract, the signing of Theo Hernández is off the table.”
