Sky: Milan do not intend to invest more than planned in January despite position in the table

AC Milan will not make large investments in the January transfer window despite the fact they are top of the table, according to Sky.

The Rossoneri have entered the winter mercato top of the Serie A standings for the first time in what feels like an eternity, which has led for some fans and pundits to call upon the ownership and the management to make a big effort to strengthen this month and bolster the hopes of a serious title challenge.

According to what is being reported by Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Milan – despite being top after 16 games – do not intend to invest more than they had planned to.

They state that the Rossoneri are ‘pursuing a dream’ in going for the title and it is one that they can continue to fight for because the economic emergency effects everyone, not just them.

Luca Marchetti added: “No one gives you the certainty that if you sign Papu Gomez, for example, then you will win the league.”
