Sky: Milan’s expenses thus far as UCL boost of €40m has already been surpassed

When Milan secured their return to the Champions League on the final matchday of the 2020/21 season, it’s true that their budget for the summer increased by a lot. However, that doesn’t mean they can spend huge amounts.

In fact, as reported by Manu Baiocchini of Sky Italia (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri have already spent a lot on the market. They paid €13m for Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori will cost €28m and they must also pay €15m for Sandro Tonali.

Paolo Maldini is in talks with Brescia to change the payment structure for the latter deal, but the money will still be paid. And then there is Brahim Diaz, whose loan could be extended with the inclusion of a buy-out clause.

That is, of course, if Real Madrid agrees to this but it’s clear that Milan have already surpassed the €40m Champions League boost they got. This was to be expected, but now the Rossoneri looking for the best solutions in every situation.
