Sky: State of play regarding Donnarumma talks – Milan’s offer, Raiola’s request and the player’s wish

AC Milan remain calm about the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma having put forward what they believe to be a good offer, a report claims.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio to Sky (via MilanNews), in recent months Milan delivered to Raiola a first offer for the renewal of Donnarumma’s contract at €6m net per season plus €1m linked to qualification for the Champions League.

That offer was rejected, so the Rossoneri management relaunched with a five-year deal worth €7m net, again plus €1m in bonuses based on qualifying for the Champions League. Raiola, however, asks for about €12m net and is waiting to find out what the future intentions of the club.

The agent would like his client to play regularly in the Champions League and that is why the negotiation is currently on stand-by and in the last few days there have been no contacts between the two parties.

Milan remain calm having made an important offer, in line with the current market, and the hope remains that Donnarumma understands the situation and renews. The idea of a one-year extension is an option that is not taken into consideration by the Rossoneri.

Donnarumma’s ambition meanwhile is to finally make his debut in the Champions League and play there permanently, which is why he would also renew for 1 or 2 years, to better understand later if Milan will have ambition to build a Champions League team.
