San Siro will have a reduced capacity for the time being after the Supervisory Commission chose to close part of the stadium.
A lot has been spoken about the iconic venue in the last few months, from Milan and Inter’s plans to construct a new version to Atalanta controversially occupying it for their Champions League home games.
Now, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that the Supervisory Commission has chosen to close part of the stadium where vibrations can be felt.
‘San Siro trembles, closed six sectors of the third ring’ is the headline from Friday’s edition of the paper.
The Commission has apparently declared that six sections of the third tier must be closed, thus reducing the capacity by 2,350 seats.
Despite this decision, there is no security problem: “The stadium moves and it is normal for it to do so. We just want to prevent the fear from breaking out among the fans who can feel the vibrations,” the Commission states.
