Tatarusanu highlights ‘compact defence’ as Milan claim ‘important win’ at Monza

After keeping his third consecutive clean sheet, Ciprian Tatarusanu spoke to the media about the recent success. He credited the ‘compact defence’ for AC Milan’s ability to get out of their poor form.

Tatarusanu put in yet another good performance this evening, making a couple of good saves and also commanding the aerial space. In our player ratings, the goalkeeper was given a 6.5/10 just like the rest of his defenders.

Speaking to MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Tatarusanu was asked about Milan’s recent success in defence after previously leaking goals. The Romanian has improved himself, but made sure to highlight his defensive teammates.

On the win…

“It was a more difficult game in the second half but we put a lot of character into it and we got away with a very important win.”

On the defensive success…

“I have it in front of me, a more compact defence and we have seen it in these matches.”

Milan will face Atalanta in the next game and it will be played at San Siro. Just like against Tottenham, it could be a great atmosphere in the stadium and the Rossoneri really need to build on this positive trend. With a top-four finish at stake, the timing of the recent turnaround was crucial.
