The Sun: Saga takes another turn as PSG show interest in €35m Chelsea outcast

Paris Saint-Germain have joined AC Milan in the battle to land Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to a report.

Virtually every major outlet over the last few weeks has reported that the Rossoneri management are in talks to bring Bakayoko back to the San Siro, where he had a successful loan spell under Gennaro Gattuso in 2018-19.

However, those same sources have also suggested that the talks have stalled over the past few days as Chelsea continue to demand a high figure on a potential option to buy.

According to The Sun, this has opened the door for PSG to join the race as Milan have failed to come up with a package to satisfy Chelsea.

The Ligue 1 giants also want to sign Bakayoko on loan this season with the option of making it a permanent move in 2021. Chelsea value the midfielder at £32m (around €35m) and want a €5m loan fee with the remaining €30m to be paid as the option to buy.

Milan have no issue with the loan figure, but would only be willing to offer €20m for a permanent transfer, a figure not acceptable to the Blues who want to recoup most of the £40m they paid to Monaco in 2018.

If PSG were to offer anywhere close to their valuation, then the west London club would be happy to sell.
