TMW: Milan vs. Messi for Redondo Jr. after €4.6m offer is launched

AC Milan face competition if they are to try and sign Federico Redondo in the coming months, and it is Lionel Messi’s team that have entered the race.

It was Sky who reported last week that ‘work is being done’ by Milan to sign Federico Redondo (Fernando’s son), who is a midfielder currently plying his trade at Argentinos Juniors.

The latest update from TMW states that Argentinos Juniors are now resigning themselves to the idea of not having him for the start of the new season.

Redondo is currently busy with the Olympic team at the Paris 2024 qualifying tournament which is taking place in Venezuela, but the president of the Argentine club said: “It will be difficult to hold him back.”

He is one of the most sought-after players playing in Argentina and the report confirms that the Rossoneri are keen on him, but Inter Miami are now stepping forward too.

In the last few hours, a formal offer was presented for the 21-year-old midfielder: $5m (€4.6m) for 100% of his rights. This was rejected, because Argentinos Juniors have asked for $10m for 80%.

Redondo’s contract will expire in December 2024 and for this reason it is difficult for the Argentine club to have high demands.
