Argentina's Federico Redondo

TMW: Milan vs. Messi for Redondo Jr. after €4.6m offer is launched

AC Milan face competition if they are to try and sign Federico Redondo in the coming months, and it is Lionel Messi’s team that have entered the race.

It was Sky who reported last week that ‘work is being done’ by Milan to sign Federico Redondo (Fernando’s son), who is a midfielder currently plying his trade at Argentinos Juniors.

The latest update from TMW states that Argentinos Juniors are now resigning themselves to the idea of not having him for the start of the new season.

Redondo is currently busy with the Olympic team at the Paris 2024 qualifying tournament which is taking place in Venezuela, but the president of the Argentine club said: “It will be difficult to hold him back.”

He is one of the most sought-after players playing in Argentina and the report confirms that the Rossoneri are keen on him, but Inter Miami are now stepping forward too.

In the last few hours, a formal offer was presented for the 21-year-old midfielder: $5m (€4.6m) for 100% of his rights. This was rejected, because Argentinos Juniors have asked for $10m for 80%.

Redondo’s contract will expire in December 2024 and for this reason it is difficult for the Argentine club to have high demands.

  1. I’ve been talking about him whole last summer. They should secure him already then when he had 12 millions price tag on him. Now I bet someone like Benfica will snap him from us.

  2. His father, Fernando, was a great man. He always regretted how injuries prevented him from truly performing at Milan and he gave up significant amounts of salary as a sign of respect. It would be a beautiful story if his son comes in and fulfill his father’s legacy at AC Milan

  3. Please stop pondering and nickel and diming too much and get him. He is genuinely good, take the risk. 10m is reasonable. I’ll be sick to my stomach if benfica or other team get him. Please be proactive for once

  4. LMAO Inter Miami or playing for AC Milan… a pub team with one star player or a team in the CL. We gotta make our move. Milan needs to up their bid.

      1. What are you even thinking writing something so ridiculous as that? Besides from Messi, who is even of note there? A bunch of has-beens.
