AC Milan have some work to do if they are to secure the renewal of Mike Maignan with some of Europe’s top clubs circling, a report claims.

According to TMW, Milan are already looking to the future and are currently trying to secure Maignan with a long-term contract, but the Frenchman is wanted by ‘half of Europe’ and the idea of a sale cannot be totally ruled out.
Paris Saint-Germain will try to sign him with a big offer to Milan as per the source, something that would clearly also affect the future of Gianluigi Donnarumma but a return to the Rossoneri is not on the table.
Chelsea and Bayern Munich are both keen on Maignan too, with the latter having to replace Manuel Neuer when he retires soon. The Blues signed Robert Sanchez from Brighton in the summer, but they seem ready for a new assault for Maignan.
Meanwhile, Milan are working on the new contract to fight off this interest. The idea is to extend his deal until 2028 but Maignan and his entourage are asking for a ‘monster’ salary, equal to the highest paid players in the league.
They want between €7-8m, compared to a much lower offer from the Diavolo at the moment. The ex-Lille man currently earns €3.2m net per season and the management would be willing to double it at most.
Expiring in 2026, there is time to discuss it but owners RedBird Capital will have to speed up the process so as not to create an opening other clubs could exploit.
