There were not many positives during AC Milan’s defeat against Chelsea last Wednesday, but some fans and pundits decided to turn their frustrations towards Fikayo Tomori.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write that Tomori did struggle a bit on his return to Stamford Bridge and guilty in particular of a lapse in concentration for Chelsea’s second goal as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s run was not picked up by the Englishman or Pierre Kalulu.
There was no shortage of criticism directed against Tomori who has not been up to his admittedly very high levels in the opening of the current campaign, but the 25-year-old’s response to the negative judgments came three days later in the league match against Juventus.
He showed composure to score the opening goal and make it 1-0, and then at the other end ensured his team conceded zero goals with perfect game in the defensive phase, covering Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik well as neither had a chance.
Milan always need this version of Tomori, who will have to confirm himself again tomorrow evening in the return match against Chelsea, his former team.
