Sandro Tonali is a captain without an armband for AC Milan at the moment as he has become one of the club’s leaders despite his young age, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) defines Tonali as a ‘future captain’ and a leader of Milan, and a player who has always been a fan of the Rossoneri. The armband should be held by somebody who can be a stable and lasting guide, a champion who is sure to stay for a long time.
That is why Tonali feels like the perfect fit given that Alessio Romagnoli’s contract is expiring and he could leave Milan on a free transfer when the season ends. In the absence of Romagnoli it was Davide Calabria who took the captaincy, but more due to his ‘seniority’ within the squad.
It is time for Milan to have a leader who is also recognised by the fans, and who better than a player who has been a fan since he was a child? Tonali did everything to wear the Rossoneri shirt having said no to other clubs in summer 2020 and then last summer he cut his salary to facilitate negotiations with Brescia.
The people of Milan have already elected him as a future leader, and while Pioli and the team will decide on the captaincy, it feels like the 21-year-old is already a symbol for the future.
