Compared to a year ago the head coach and sporting director have changed, but Samuele Ricci has remained one of the profiles that AC Milan like the most.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan kept Ricci on their radar for the entire season, and in the winter transfer window there were some talks but nothing ever materialised. Things were instead postponed to the summer, and now that time has arrived.

Torino are aware that their captain will be in demand and they do not want to stand in the way of his growth. He renewed until 2028 a few months ago but with a verbal agreement: if an offer of €25m or more were to arrive, the Granata will let him go.

The Rossoneri have also been informed of this agreement, and are planning their moves for the midfield ahead of 2025-26. A new offer is expected from Manchester City for Tijjani Reijnders and the management are thinking of how to invest the money.

Ricci remains the favourite and if a negotiation were to begin, Igli Tare could also think about including some players as counterparts. Yacine Adli is one option, who will return shortly from his loan at Fiorentina, and there are several Milan Futuro players Torino like.

However, Milan might have to act quickly because Inter like the Italy international too. It’s clear that now a lot depends on what happens with the head coach, but Ricci could also become Hakan Calhanoglu’s replacement in the event of the Turk’s farewell.

Furthermore, during this season, some scouts from top foreign clubs have come to Italy to follow Samuele closely, so now the ball is in the Diavolo’s court to move.
