Tuttosport: Milan identify Montpellier man as Plan B for centre-back role

AC Milan need to bolster their squad with a centre-back in January and there are quite a few names on their wish list. Maxime Estève is one of them, but he’s not considered a top target by the Rossoneri, a report claims.

The injuries of Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino have prompted Milan to study the market, now in need of a centre-back already in January. Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly appears to be the primary target, but Geoffrey Moncada is always keeping an eye on France.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Montpellier defender Maxime Estève is the Plan B for the role as PAOK’s Konstantinos Koulierakis is deemed too expensive at €10m. The 21-year-old has been linked with Milan before and could become a concrete option in two months.

In the meantime, Stefano Pioli will have to make do with Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori, while Simon Kjaer should be back in action next week. The only real option on the bench will thus be Primavera star Jan-Carlo Simic.
