Tuttosport: Milan moving fast to try sign talented Montpellier defender

AC Milan are in pursuit of a centre-back after Matteo Gabbia’s loan exit and they appear to be going for Maxime Esteve of Montpellier, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), the idea of the Milan management is to sign a deputy left-back and also a central defender too, given Gabbia has left while there are doubts about Simon Kjaer’s ability to contribute consistently.

Milan have set their sights on Esteve as per the newspaper and they got to work today to try and beat the competition for the French defender and wrap up his arrival as quickly as possible.

No further details are given regarding the demands of Montpellier nor what Milan might be willing to offer, but the theme of this summer window so far is that the accelerations from Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada can be decisive.
