Tuttosport: Napoli clash is a key moment in Pioli’s Milan career

The Serie A clash with Napoli this evening represents a key moment in Stefano Pioli’s career as AC Milan coach as the club remains set on trying to win the Scudetto, a report claims.

As reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri coach has a contract up until 2025, but that means that discussions about a renewal would generally be going on around now.

With Milan having hit a tough run of form with the losses against Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain being very uninspiring, a defeat away at Napoli would mean that the mood around the Italian coach is not good at all.

There is obviously no suggestion of an imminent sacking, but this is not the sort of moment where Milan are likely to hand him a new contract, given a lot of investment was made in the summer and the owners expect Milan to be winning the Scudetto.

Pioli even said in his press conference: “The ownership is ambitious and has ensured that the team is competitive. Our objective is the Scudetto, of course, even if we are not the only ones who want it.”
