Tuttosport: Pobega will remain part of Pioli’s squad for 2020-21 due to two key reasons

AC Milan have no intention of loaning out midfielder Tommaso Pobega for the 2020-21 season, a report claims, and the reasons are two-fold.

Calciomercato.com recently reported that Pobega has attracted the attention of several clubs, who have already asked for information.

Newly-promoted Crotone are one of those teams, while Udinese are also keen on the 21-year-old as are Torino, who have just hired Marco Giampaolo as their new head coach.

According to Monday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Pobega – fresh from an excellent season on loan at Pordenone in Serie B – is destined to remain in Pioli’s Rossoneri squad for 2020-2021.

The paper explains the reason behind the decision as being two-fold: the first is technical because Pioli views the midfielder as useful from a depth point of view and a possible fourth choice holding midfielder.

However, the other reason is related to the squad lists of both Serie A and the Europa League which need a certain amount of ‘home grown’ players present, of which Pobega is one.
