AC Milan were hoping to complete a couple of quick sales to Como, but everything has stalled on the Malick Thiaw and Alvaro Morata front.

It was reported a few days ago by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Como and Milan had been in contact for days to discuss the future of Morata, but in the meantime they had also found an agreement in principle over Thiaw.

The plan was to pretty swiftly shake hands on a double operation worth over €40m. However, the final missing components have so far not been resolved.

€40m up in the air

As Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) report this morning, the German defender has a salary proposal from the Lariani of €4m net per year on the table, and he has not rejected it but he is thinking deeply about it.

This operation would generate a large capital gain for Milan, who could collect €25m euros plus bonuses and would make over €20m considering the amortisation. The doubts for Thiaw concern choosing Cesc Fabregas’ side over, for example, a return to Germany.

The former Schalke defender would like to play in European competitions if possible, too, given his ambitions to be a part of the Germany squad for the 2026 World Cup in the United States.

Morata is also in talks with Como, but Galatasaray are continuing to put up a wall and are not wanting to release the Spanish striker from his loan spell early, given that it will run until the 2026 winter window.
