AC Milan and Como are progressing rapidly in talks over a double deal that would see Alvaro Morata and Malick Thiaw move to the lake.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report this morning that Como and Milan had been in contact for days to discuss the future of Morata, but in the meantime they have also found an agreement in principle over Thiaw. All of this in an operation worth over €40m.
This must be added to the €57m collected from the sale of Reijnders to City (with bonuses it rises to €72m), the €14m from the permanent signing of Kalulu by Juventus, the €3.5m from the sale of Pellegrino to Boca Juniors, while waiting for the other €25m arriving for Theo from Al-Hilal.
The total, even if the deals that are not yet official were to materialise, is €141m. The exits may not end here: the Musah to Napoli idea remains alive, even if the American is also reportedly interested by Nottingham Forest. Chukwueze, Okafor and others have their suitcases packed too.

Morata moves again
Let’s start with Morata, who has already said yes to the Lariani, attracted by the possibility of working with his former national teammate, Cesc Fabregas. The Spanish striker, however, is still linked to Galatasaray.
The first formal step, therefore, had to arrive from Istanbul, with the Turkish club needing to agree to waive the last five months remaining on Alvaro’s loan. Milan, in fact, had sent the centre-forward to Gala on loan for 12 months, with the possibility of making the transfer permanent.
To convince the Istanbul club to let him go, Milan proposed not to collect the agreed sum for the months he has already spent there. Why? Simple: they hope to collect much more from Como. As much as €16.5m, in a permanent deal.

Thiaw to join Alvaro?
Milan and Como also have a full agreement over a €25m deal for Thiaw. What’s missing? The central defender’s final response. If, on the one hand, leaving the Rossoneri can be interpreted as a step backwards, on the other hand there is an economically attractive offer: €4m net per year in salary.
The German currently earns less than €1m in Milan. The leap forward, therefore, would be financial. And we must not forget the ambitions of Como, a club in strong growth and controlled by the richest ownership in the entire Serie A.
With the double Morata-Thiaw deal plus the permanent loan signings and the purchase of Rodriguez from Real Betis – plus Baturina from Dinamo Zagreb – they have already broken through the ceiling of €100m in spending in June alone.

This is very good. Gives us the cash needed for the reinforcements.
Having sporting director shows itself. Let’s get rid of dead weights..
Ricci (99% done), Jashari (next target; current offer at 30-32M), Modric (done deal), Kessie (10-15M if he accepts 4-5M as salary)
midfield look super promising
with Thiaw sale, Leoni will be bought. that leaves fullbacks and ST…
already huge Tare x Allegri fan… difference between fake titles and real professionals.
Why would we sell our best young CB who is entering his prime years to buy an 18yo kid who is not ready for a club like Milan?
It’s nonsense
Thiaw isn’t ready for Milan either.
And yet como, leverkusen, bayern, all well run clubs with excellent scouting systems have been interested in him.
Not to mention the fact he has also recieved call ups from the german national team, a team with no shortage of CB’s
When was the last time he was summoned? Hint: Not last season.
Well said @SJF
Giving up on Thiaw way too early.
Rather we sold Tomori or Pavlovic (who has zero positional awareness) then give up on Thiaw. Ball playing CB are not easy to find. And his POTENTIAL replacement – Leoni??? will be much more than what we sell Thiaw for – that is IF Parma decides to sell and so far they have not.
But as the article said: Como is a team of AMBITION and with RICH Owners that want to WIN and we unfortunately are not
So if he is sold good for him hope he gets his raise and has a successful career.
It is clear to me that Furlani and Gerry just want to get rid of all the players M&M signed (save for Leao for now) start anew. We will see what happens. So far it hasn’t worked. Hope that changes.
Also shows how much TRASH Furlani purchased over the years that were useless: Musah Chukuweze Okafor Emerson Morata etc….
Can’t wait for 2028
Milan isn’t ready for Milan based on how last few seasons went. Thiaw is young and talented and the fact that Milan have had a carousel of coaches coming in and trying their own “philosophies” is a good reason why so many of our players took a nosedive in form.
Thiaw has plenty of time and talent. Just needs a solid coach to guide him and a stable environment to grow in.
Have you seen Thiaw play??! Trading a German for an Italian is an upgrade.
Yes he is a very talented young CB, great at playing out from the back, good passer, tall and physically imposing.
I am all for prioritising Italian players but selling a good young player who has had some years to learn and settle for another greenhorn is not smart
He makes huge mistakes. Greenhorn? There’s a five 5 age difference. Thiaw has shown little improvement in 5 years. He’s doesn’t have the tactical discipline for Serie A.
Our best run of form defensively the season gone was with Thiaw-Gabbia at the back, they are our 2 best
Thiaw was the only CB capable of playing out of the back with the ball at his feet, and he did it well, if you you had actually seen him play last season …
bro, dont count your chickens until they hatch. As of right now, we have not signed anyone. I’d love to see some fresh, good faces but even Modric has not signed…. yet
Yay money $$$$
I can’t wait till we sell Leao and Pulisic, we’re gonna be sooo rich!!!
Como would only be a downgrade in prestige. They’re now more ambitious than Milan, they play the same competitions this season with no Europe, Thiaw would get a better salary and maybe compete for trophies soon. While Milan never gives contract extensions and only competes for the budget. And it’s wonderful to live around Como’s lake.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they clinch conference league next season to be honest.
Wish it was Tomori packing the bags instead
Hold on, where are all those experts when we sold Tonali, which was a jack pot, and got Tiji instead and were saying he is no good bla bla bla?
Now we are rich ha? So Americans are not filling in their pockets after all?
Why on earth would I take Kessie? He left us, so for me he is gone, I would not give him more then 2M a year, and that is if we can get him for free to sit on a bench as insurance.
Xhaka is the one we want, along with Jashari and Ricci, Modric we have.
Forza Milan forever to all our cry baby loser fan base.
Filling THEIR pockets? No, they’re not. The money goes back into the club and is reinvested.
SOME of the $$$ gets reinvested NOT ALL of it
Let’s be real here.
100%!!!! No way the make the entirety of transfer funds available for purchases. That guy is living in some utopia if he thinks a dollar out is a dollar in …
He thinks he’s Mr. Know-it-all lol.
Maybe you missed the part where our management have given themself double the sallaries of what other Italian teams managments were getting. Also the part where we went from 1st to 8th place.
Hello Milanazi,
Milan fans can’t enjoy a good 8th position in Serie A it seems, only two years after playing in UCL semifinals. Crazy I know.
Best regards,
