Mediaset: Ziyech option remains alive for Milan as Chelsea open to discounted sale

AC Milan’s pursuit of a new winger has not ended yet and Chelsea have opened to selling Hakim Ziyech, according to a report.

According to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), any chances of Milan signing Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma before the window closes in four days have now vanished as the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement over the figures or formula of a potential deal.

However, the market might not be closed just yet as the Ziyech option remains alive for Milan. The Morocco international will not be able to leave Chelsea on loan because they have already reached the maximum numbers of players loaned out, but can leave on a permanent deal.

The Premier League club have set their initial asking price at €20m but given the huge January spending spree they have been on and the limited playing time available to the former Ajax man, the price is negotiable.

The Rossoneri have another factor on their side: they could benefit from the Growth Decree if he were to sign a deal of more than two years, reducing the overall costs of the operation.
