Brandt, Ozcan, Fullkrug and Nmecha react to Dortmund’s draw with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Four Borussia Dortmund players have given their thoughts on last night’s draw against AC Milan at the Signal Iduna Park in the Champions League.

It was a tale of two halves in truth as the Bundesliga side had the better of the exchanges in the opening 45 minutes, but Milan really turned up the pressure in the second half and will feel like they could have won, missing big chances.

Julian Brandt started the game as the right winger was interviewed by reporters in the mixed zone, echoing the sentiments of his coach who believes conclusions cannot be drawn from the result yet.

“It remains to be seen what the point is ultimately worth. A lot is still possible and depends on the form on the day. We controlled the match well in many phases but attacking momentum was lacking,” he said (via PlanetSport).

“We played a decent game, but we’ve not been sitting in the dressing room satisfied. There is still work to do in the next Champions League matches.”

Salih Ozcan spoke on BVB-TV and he revealed his belief that his side missed some chances in the first half that they would ultimately regret.

“In the first half in particular, we were well in the game and had control. We created several good chances. In the end, a goal was missing.”

Niclas Fullkrug got the nod to start up front and he was interviewed by DAZN after a tough night in which he didn’t get much service in truth.

“We produced a good performance, were very dominant. But I thought we were not clever. It’s more a case of two points dropped. You can’t write anyone in the group off for a long while yet.”

Finally, Felix Nmecha also spoke to BVB-TV after he came off the bench in the second half and injected a bit of energy and creativity in the closing stages for the hosts.

“It was an open game. Both had good chances. We were not clear enough in the final third. Hence the draw. We had good moments after losing possession and got it back quickly. And we had phases in which we played good football.”
