CM: Brest star wants Milan move – price set amid competition from three clubs

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are pushing to sign another central defender after Matteo Gabbia’s return from his loan spell at Villarreal, and a report claims that one of their targets wants to join.

Calciomercato.com are reporting that while Jan-Carlo Simic’s growth reassures for the future and Gabbia is back to bolster the numbers of the defence, it does not change the plans for the management who are working to give Stefano Pioli another option.

Directors Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio believe that they have identified the right profile in Lilian Brassier of Brest. The 24-year-old is not just liked by Milan though, as Monaco – who have begun talks – are keen as well as Porto and Leverkusen.

The Rossoneri have already received the approval of Brassier who is pushing to start a new adventure in Italy which would see him join his compatriots Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud too.

The agreement on the contractual terms now seems to be a mere formality, however the discussion with Brest is more complicated because the first offer of a loan with option to buy did not ignite the enthusiasm of the Breton club.

Brest are having a dream season as they are currently fourth in the Ligue 1 table, four points behind second-placed Nice. This is why the intention would be to keep Brassier at least until the end of the season.

However, the player’s will could play a decisive role in this negotiation. His valuation is around €11-12m, but could rise given the mounting interest.

  1. Downright offensive to ask a small club like Brest to loan him to us with an option when they are having such a great season. By loaning him out there is an increased risk that they would lose their spot in the top and furthermore lose out on money and prestige.
The one asking for a loan here should have a gotten a slap in the middle of the face.

    1. Yeah, you can’t just loan out a starting player in the squad. It’s like we’re loaning out Reindeers, CP11,RL10, Tomori, or Theo 😀

      1. Indeed as he is their most expensive player according to Transfermarkt. I would be furious if Real Madrid came asking for a loan with an option for Leao if vinicus was out with an injury and if our management has any sanity they should be too.

    2. In all honesty I don’t think this boy is that good, I would rather persist with Simic.

This guy is an old fashioned defender and for me lacks both football intelligence and technical ball play skills. I prefer Copola of Verona to this guy.

Ultimately it’s got to be Scavlini, CDL and €10-15m.

But Terricano and Ricci would be and Dybala for the release clause quoted could really help us push for the Europa League and weaken Roma for the top 4

      1. I don’t think I have seen him play myself but he is nevertheless an important player for them hence my post. My knowledge of Coppola is also fairly limited as well.

Considering that Scalvini will have a 60-70 mil valuation by Atalanta there is no way that we willl be able to get him for 10-15 mil on top of what atalanta will have to pay for CDK they will more likely demand 40 mil if not more and knowing that is beyond the managements parametres I believe there is next to zero chance that we will see Scalvini in AC Milan.

Terraciano seems to be on his way and is pretty alround player that could be a decent backup. Ricci on the other hand I’ve wanted him in milan since his early empoli days but i doubt we will be able to attain him for less than 30-35 mil but i would nevertheles still like him in the club. Never liked Dybala so thats a pass for me and he has a hefyu wage that without the growth decree probably isn’t possible for us either..
