CM: Milan to rival Juventus and Premier League side for Atletico Madrid defender

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are plotting a move for Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso in the summer but they will be facing competition from Juventus and Aston Villa, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Hermoso is attracting a lot of attention as he has been an important player for Atletico Madrid for a long time and is going to be available on a free transfer.

His contract is up at the end of the season so discussions can be held with the player and his entourage for a summer move, which is a great financial opportunity for Milan.

Atletico Madrid do intend to keep Hermoso so they are trying to get him to sign a new contract. If that does not work out for the Spanish side, it opens the door to teams like Milan.

Juventus have also shown considerable interest in the 28-year-old defender, but it is Premier League side Aston Villa which is in the best position to secure his services.

Unai Emery’s side have already made concrete steps towards offering Hermoso a contract, and the pull of the Premier League is strong. Villa may also be able to offer Champions League football, depending on how the season pans out.

  1. First it was that Valencia defender, now A. Madrid defender. Who’s next?

If one thing irritates me on this site is reporting of click bait transfer gossip from other outlets.

it doesn’t matter if it’s true as long as it sells.
