CorSport: Giroud to lead the line against Lazio – the two reasons he is fired up

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud is virtually certain to be the man leading the line for AC Milan against Lazio tomorrow night at the Stadio Olimpico, and he has one thing on his mind.

As Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) report this morning, Milan will play away from home against Lazio tomorrow night looking to end their three-game winless run, and Giroud is set to start the game up front given Luka Jovic will serve the second of a two-match ban.

The French striker – who so far this season has amassed 13 goals and nine assists in 31 matches across all competitions – wants to redeem himself for a couple of different reasons after what happened on Sunday.

Firstly, his performance in general against Atalanta seemed a bit flat. He did not get involved in play much despite the fact that Milan put in a dominant display and had 70% of the ball.

Then, Giroud wants to respond with an important goal, given that his challenge on Emil Holm – as controversial as the decision was – resulted in the penalty that Teun Koopmeiners converted to earn Atalanta a draw.

According to the Roman newspaper, Giroud’s supporting cast will be as follows: Christian Pulisic on the right, Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the attacking midfielder role and Rafael Leão on the left.
