GdS: Milan player ratings for Atalanta draw – several praised after positive display

By Oliver Fisher -

A number of AC Milan players drew praise for their performances during last night’s draw against Atalanta in this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan dominated most of the game and also created several good chances to claim all three points. However, the questionable penalty decision ended up being decisive, though at least the Rossoneri kept Atalanta at a seven-point distance for now.

This morning’s edition of the paper (as seen below) has their ratings from the game, starting with the team’s overall performance which was given a 6.5 out of 10 and Stefano Pioli’s management which scored a 7.

Rafael Leao was the best player on the field and scored a wonderful goal, earning him a mark of 7.5, while Olivier Giroud was the worst as he struggled to get into the game and was at the centre of the controversial penalty incident so he got a 5.5.

Yacine Adli had a very bright game and was given a 6, while Alessandro Florenzi, Malick Thiaw, Matteo Gabbia and Ruben Loftus-Cheek got half a mark less.

Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Christian Pulisic and Ismael Bennacer were given scores of 6. Off the bench. Davide Calabria and Yunus Musah were each given a 6 too, while Noah Okafor did not play enough to be marked.
