GdS: Milan player ratings for Cagliari win – several shine in dominant victory

AC Milan ended up getting the job one in emphatic fashion last night at San Siro as they beat Cagliari 4-1 to book a place in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) has their ratings for the game, starting with the team’s overall performance and Stefano Pioli’s management which both earned a 7 out of 10.

The best player on the pitch for the Rossoneri was Theo Hernandez who played centre-back again but chipped in with two assists for Luka Jovic, getting a 7.5. Luka Romero struggled to get into the game and got the lowest mark, a 6.

Antonio Mirante earned a 6.5 after a couple of smart stops, while Davide Calabria was given a 6, Jan-Carlo Simic a 6.5 and Alex Jimenez – who made his senior debut – was awarded a 7.

Yacine Adli and Tijjani Reijnders both did well in the double pivot and were given a 6.5, then moving into the attack Chaka Traore got ahis first goal for the first team to get a 6.5, Jovic’s brace got him a 7.5 and Samuel Chukwueze got a 6.

The decision was made to bring Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic off the bench, with the former scoring a 7 after netting a goal late on and the American was given a 6.
