GdS: Milan player ratings for Bologna win – pair of new signings stand out

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan got their season off to the best possible start with a 2-0 win against a tricky Bologna side at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara last night, with several players earning praise.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) have published their ratings from the game in this morning’s edition of the paper, starting with the team’s performance and Stefano Pioli’s management, both of which earned a 7 out of 10.

The best performer was Christian Pulisic who had a hand in the first goal and scored the second, getting a 7.5. Davide Calabria struggled defensively and didn’t look 100%, getting a 5.5.

Mike Maignan received a 7 for making a couple of smart stops, while Malick Thiaw and Theo Hernandez got a 6.5 and Fikayo Tomori a 6 to complete the back line.

In midfield, Rade Krunic was praised for his performance at the base of the midfield, scoring a 6.5. Ruben Loftus-Cheek got a 6, while his mezzala partner Tijjani Reijnders earned a 7 for a very impressive debut.

A clinical Olivier Giroud got a 7 and Rafael Leao a 6 for what was not his best night. Pierre Kalulu, Samuel Chukwueze and Tommaso Pobega all got a 6 off the bench.

    1. With all due respect R , I didnt view Pobega’s minutes on the pitch positively. I mean , I like Pobega because he is homegrown and Italian but he is average for me .
I know we have Musah & Benna but Who haven’t played yet but it’s only Reijnders in the middle who is real Milan level. I think we need a quality DM ASAP.
