GdS: Probable XIs for Atalanta vs. Milan – Giroud to return in attack, Hernandez at centre-back

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan will have Olivier Giroud back in the attack for a Serie A game when the Rossoneri take on Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday evening.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Stefano Pioli is welcoming Giroud back from his suspension by starting him against La Dea.

With Rafael Leao still injured, Christian Pulisic will move to the left wing and Samuel Chukwueze will get a start on the right wing.

The midfield three is expected to consist of Tijjani Reijnders in the centre, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yunus Musah on either side of the Dutchman.

The defensive injury crisis is ongoing, so Theo Hernandez is going to be used as a centre-back again alongside Fikayo Tomori. Alessandro Florenzi will take his left-back slot, whilst Davide Calabria will be on the right flank. Mike Maignan will be in goal.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Hernandez, Florenzi; Loftus-Cheek, Reijnders, Musah; Chukwueze, Giroud, Pulisic.
