L’Equipe: ‘Eager to take a step forward’ – Milan and Juventus eyeing Wolfsburg star

By Oliver Fisher -

Maxence Lacroix is expected to leave Wolfsburg in the summer and AC Milan are one of two Italian clubs who are keen on signing him, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by L’Equipe, Lacroix should leave Wolfsburg ahead of the 2024-25 season and take another step forward in his career, having impressed in the Bundesliga so far.

Juventus and Milan have come forward to inquire about the 23-year-old defender given both clubs want a central defender in the summer.

Lacroix is under contract with the Lower Saxony club until 2025 and he is ‘attentive and eager to take a step forward’ in his career, implying that he would certainly consider both destinations.

He arrived in 2020 from Sochaux and is completing his fourth season with Die Wolven but he will not go beyond that. Wolfsburg, for their part, know that they could make a nice figure from his sale.

The Rossoneri are believed to be pursuing a new centre-back given the doubts about the future of Simon Kjaer beyond the end of the season, given that his contract expires.

In addition to that, Pierre Kalulu’s repeated injury problems mean that Geoffrey Moncada may well be eyeing someone a bit more reliable.
