MN: €2bn valuation and a big financial leap – why Milan need a new stadium ASAP

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are doing everything that they can to build a new stadium but until they do that they will not be able to take a big leap forward, a journalist has claimed.

As Antonio Vitiello writes in his latest for MilanNews, the acquisition of some land in the San Francesco area of San Donato Milanese – where the new Milan stadiu would be built – was recently approved.

The controlling shareholder of the club had already paid the sum of €40m in the accounts which closed in June, as we outlined in our most recent Substack update.

The path for the program agreement for the urban planning variant with the municipality of San Donato has been officially opened, a further and important step forward.

Only with the new stadium will Milan be able to make a big leap in financial terms when it comes to turnover, and consequently then the transfer window, because more money earned gives greater spending power.

The stadium theme continues to be underestimated by many, but at the moment it is the only way to make the club more competitive.

Furthermore, with the approval for the construction of the new facility there will be many more foreign investors who will want to buy into Milan, but at that point the value of the club will exceed €2bn compared to the €1.2bn RedBird Capital paid.
