Argentine striker Alejo Veliz will not be heading to AC Milan this summer as he has been signed by Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur instead.
Tottenham officially announced the signing on Tuesday afternoon with a statement on their website which confirmed that Veliz has joined from Rosario Central and signed a contract until 2029.
Veliz joined Rosario at the Under-20 level and went on to make 62 top-flight appearances in Argentina. He scored 19 goals in that time, which led to attention from Europe.
Milan and Torino were the two sides showing the most interest in him. Milan were only likely to make a move if they saw Lorenzo Colombo leave the club, meaning they were not offering stiff competition.
Veliz has scored three goals in nine appearances at U20 level for Argentina and is thought to be a star for the future. He could have a lot of responsibility at Tottenham if Harry Kane departs.

So a potential Kane replacement was turned down by us? We must be counting on our attack to score by committee. We reinforced a lot of positions upfront and sped up our midfield so I think we will use our speed and mobility to maintain possession and score as well given the midfielders/wingers brought in, with high presses and running to cover ground more than actual body to body recoveries. The entire team will be using constant movements on and off the ball to avoid having to physically engage with opposition.

It’s money issue too, considering he is joining Tottenham for15m fixed fee + 6m adds on. That’s so expensive for 3rd striker.
They must see Okafor as a wild card as well to back up Giroud or on the flanks this year. I believe that is why they put off signing him. They also want a quicker team so that is why they will stay as is with our options up front
