AC Milan Women came from behind against Ternana to record a win in the Serie A Women’s Cup to at least end the campaign with a victory.
The Roma game last week was a must-win for the Rossonere following the 0-2 defeat to Sassuolo two weeks ago. Sadly, they lost that one too – conceding in the 80th minute – and that means they had no chance of reaching the final four.

They faced Ternana in the final group-stage game this afternoon, though it did not have any meaning in terms of deciding qualification as a result. Milan did, however, at least sign off with three points.
Suzanne Bakker’s side responded strongly after a difficult first half. Milan attempted to build out in the first 45 minutes, but the Umbrian side scored right at the end of the half through Pirone, which felt like a sucker punch.
The second half saw a dramatic change, with the Rossonere first equalising through Van Dooren in the 58th minute. Ten minutes later, Appiah – who had replaced Dompig just two minutes earlier – scored the second goal. Like Milan Futuro, the Women’s team also came from behind to win.
