AC Milan are looking to bring forward the arrival of Yacine Adli amid doubts over the current midfield department, according to a report.
Calciomercato.com reports how the game against Udinese (and also the one against Sassuolo) showed the unreliability of Tiemoue Bakayoko who is out of form and not at his best condition. This is a worry given that Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer will leave in January for the Africa Cup of Nations and Sandro Tonali needs a reliable partner.
Rade Krunic and Davide Calabria can also play in midfield if needed but of course they are better suited to other roles, which is why the management want to bring forward Adli’s permanent arrival from Bordeaux.
Adli was bought by Milan in the summer window for a figure close to €10m plus bonuses, with the guarantee of leaving him in France to continue his development until June 2022. However, situation has changed because between 9 January and 6 February 2022 the Rossoneri will have to face Roma, Juventus at home and the derby against Inter.
The Ligue 1 side do not want to lose Adli and this complicates the negotiation. What is certain is that Milan is already trying and has started contacts with Bordeaux, to find an economic agreement after the discount received for the promise to leave him in Ligue 1 and they are also in talks with Adli’s entourage. If before it might have seemed an impossible solution, now something is moving.
