Tijjani Reiijnders is just one step away from joining AC Milan as an agreement has been reached between AZ Alkmaar and the Rossoneri. The Dutch side’s technical director, Max Huiberts, has confirmed that the deal is close.
Earlier today, it was reported by several credible sources that Milan and AZ Alkmaar have reached an agreement at €20m plus bonuses. The player could arrive at the start of next week and sign his contract, worth €1.6m per year.
Speaking to Noordhollands Dagblad, AZ Alkmaar’s technical director Max Huiberts confirmed that Reijnders is just one step away from joining Milan. They have given him permission to speak to the Rossoneri, as he described it.
“He has the permission to speak to Milan, that is if hasn’t already (smiles). It’s not done yet, those reports are a bit premature. But Reijnders is going. Milan have shown that they really want him. The last meeting with Milan was a great conversation, we are now close to each other,” he stated.
Everything suggests that the parties are just finalising the details of the deal and it seems Reijnders will be able to travel with Milan to the United States next week. Stefano Pioli pushed for the move and will be delighted with the signing.
