AC Milan are pushing strongly to try and convince Mattia Liberali to rejoin, with Ruben Amorim playing a key role.
Yesterday evening, news broke that Milan have also joined the race for Liberali. The Rossoneri are keen to bring back the talented playmaker just one year after they let him go permanently to Catanzaro in Serie B.

The player had asked for a move 12 months ago to find more playing time. Liberali made the right choice, having excelled in Serie B this season and attracted the attention of many Serie A teams.
Amorim the key?
This even applies to the new Milan boss Amorim, who is pushing to bring him back to Milan, as MilanNews confirm. The club are ‘increasingly pressing for Mattia Liberali’ and they’re ‘pushing to bring him back’.

I never thought that Liberali was that good. Didn’t regret to see him go. I think he is more hype than skill. Still young, could learn but so far I’m not convinced of his true potential. A couple of good pre-season games, disastrous for Futuro, a couple of good games for a Serie B team that was ultimately unable to earn promotion. What’s so special about this guy? I did watch him play in person for Futuro and what I saw was pretty bad. I know that this is not a popular opinion here, a forum where people tend to overestimate young players.
This said, if this is true and not the 1,000th journalistic story fishing for drama and clicks, it would provide yet another evidence of how confused our management is. If they do want him, why did they let him go in the first place? I’m aware that Liberali asked to leave, but that is in function of not feeling like Milan was willing to give him a project. And now, this? Ridiculous.
It could also be part of the strategy of Milan becoming a farm team: develop young players, sell later for profit.
Whatever the truth about this is, it doesn’t smell right.

Why would someone want to join Milan over Como?
This could be shocking for people like me who are lifelong fans and remember the good times. But the truth is, we are now a confused, unambicious, lost, midtable team. We’ve been destroyed by RedBird and we are a shadow of our former self.
If I were a young player, or a primetime player, or a veteran player… any player… I wouldn’t want to join AC Milan. Not the way it’s being managed. It’s the harsh truth, and it is as simple as that.
