Manchester United wide man Amad Diallo is one of Ruben Amorim’s top targets for AC Milan, according to a report.

According to CaughtOffside, United ‘could face an important decision’ regarding Diallo’s future as Milan ‘prepare to test the club’s determination to keep him’. The interest is not a surprise, given how well the Ivorian played under Amorim at Old Trafford.
Brighton and Newcastle are also monitoring developments surrounding Diallo. However, the stance of the Red Devils is clear: they will keep the winger unless he pushes for a move or an offer comes in that they cannot turn down.
Amorim tries for Amad
The report adds: “Sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside that AC Milan have identified Amad Diallo as one of their priority attacking targets.”
The former Atalanta man is seen as a perfect fit for Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system, given he was one of the only players who seemed to thrive in it during the Portuguese’s time in Manchester. He was used both behind the strikers but also as a wing-back.
Amorim’s previous relationship with Amad ‘could give Milan an advantage if negotiations begin’, CaughtOffside add. The Rossoneri management are said to be ‘preparing a financially controlled proposal rather than an enormous bid, which may not be enough to convince United’.
Diallo signed a new agreement in January 2025 keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2030, so United have plenty of leverage. Not only that, but Michael Carrick seems to be a big admirer of the 24-year-old, given he can play pretty much any of the positions behind the striker.
Nonetheless, the source state that ‘a reunion with Amorim and a return to Italy may appeal, especially if Milan can promise a central role’.
