As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it report, Milan’s first choice target for the attack is Marco Asensio of Real Madrid. The Spaniard would cost around €25m but the main problem is his salary. Nonetheless, talks have begun with Real and the Rossoneri have even offered up the early return of Brahim Diaz.
Domenico Berardi remains as an alternative to Asensio and Sassuolo’s CEO Giovanni Carnevali has opened a door to selling him to Milan, but for now the asking price is €30m and this is not an amount that Paolo Maldini is happy to pay.
Regarding potential exits, Junior Messias’s future is in serious doubt after his disappointing recent performances, and unless he improves in the season finale it is hard to see how Milan would say yet to paying an extra €5m to buy him outright, but everything will depend on the season finale.
Finally, Alexis Saelemaekers could return to full-back like he played at Anderlecht, and in this case a lot will depend on the future of Alessandro Florenzi. The Roma loanee has gone under the knife for the second time this season so now his age and physical condition must be weighed up against his versatility, quality and experience.
