Journalist claims Barcelona have closed an agreement with Kessie ahead of free transfer

Barcelona have found an agreement with Franck Kessie over personal terms and he should now join them in the summer transfer window on a free, it is claimed.

Kessie said five months ago at the end of July when he was in Tokyo with the Ivory Coast: “I’ll be back from the Olympics and I’ll fix everything. I’d like to stay AC Milan forever.”

However, he hasn’t renewed yet and the interview has come back to haunt him because at the moment he looks like going against his word. The chances of him extending are minimal, and now it seems he already has his next club lined up.

As reported by the journalist Gerard Romero who covers the Catalan club closely, Barcelona reached an agreement with Kessie during talks that took place last night and the operation can be considered closed.

Obviously the Ivorian remain with the Rossoneri until the end of the season and then will start a new experience in Spain, moving on a free transfer. What is interesting is that Romero adds (via BarcaInfo) that he will earn €4m net per season plus €2.5m in potential bonuses, which would be less than the reported offers from Milan.
