Bennacer highlights ‘wrong attitude’ at Milan ahead of Tottenham decider

After the loss against Fiorentina, Ismael Bennacer spoke to the media and admitted that AC Milan entered the game with the wrong attitude. Now, they will have to recharge their batteries ahead of the Spurs encounter.

Bennacer made his return to the pitch last night after recovering from an injury. It was a tough evening for him as Fiorentina pressed very high, not giving him much space to work with and forcing him to test different things.

Speaking to DAZN and MilanTV after the game, as cited by MilanNews, Bennacer said that Milan had the wrong attitude and that they didn’t deserve to win. In other words, it was a very honest review by the Algerian.

On the loss…

“I think we have the wrong attitude. Fiorentina played very well, they deserved the victory. We have to do much more. We’ll take the field again in a few days and we can’t play like this.”

On Spurs…

“We mustn’t lower our heads, we have to recover because we play in four days.”

How are you feeling?

“I feel good, I got some minutes in my legs. We didn’t want this result but it happened. I felt good, then with time I’ll be even better.”

Milan will take on Tottenham in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday. They have a 1-0 lead on aggregate but it will be a very tough game in London, especially after the confidence knock last night.
