Marca: Playmaker still holds Real Madrid dream but Milan plan to use €22m option

Brahim Diaz has an uncertain future beyond the end of the season which AC Milan and Real Madrid must resolve, a report claims.

Marca report that Real Madrid know they have a player on their books who has big potential and that is why the playmaker is ‘under study’ by their management to see if he should be considered part of the plans for the future.

Milan have already made it clear that they intend to exercise their option to buy which was set at €22m, which would therefore make Brahim a permanent Rossoneri player, but by paying €5m to Milan and thus exercising the €27m buy-back clause Los Blancos could bring him back.

If they do decide to bring the former Manchester City man back to base, it would be for Brahim to become part of the first team and not to be part of another operation. However, a lot depends on the futures of players such as Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Real Madrid believe Brahim Diaz could be a ‘perfect player to complete the squad’, but they see it as quite difficult at present that he would become an undisputed starter. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old feels important at Milan and backed by the club, even though the dream of succeeding at Real Madrid continues to keep him alive.
