Ariedo Braida oversaw one of AC Milan’s most successful periods, and today, he has commented on this season as a whole.
Ultimately, no one could have predicted how this season has gone. At one point, there were suggestions that this Milan team could win the Scudetto, but as the season started, those hopes quickly disappeared.
Nevertheless, a constant rhetoric from the management continued to suggest that the title was on, or possible with this group, which has not helped their own positions and credibility.
Today, Braida has spoken about the Milan-ness of this current Rossoneri team, and his words to Radio Rai have been relayed by Pianeta Milan.
“I don’t want to be a prophet because we all make mistakes, but I had predicted a season like this, not in line with the expectations and history of Milan. Unfortunately, all this has come true, and I’m very sorry about this because I’ve always been a Milan fan.
“Let’s hope that something happens, that someone understands that we need to find solutions, with competent people. Unfortunately, competence is lacking, there is a lack of this value.”
As the Rossoneri’s former sporting director, the 78-year-old also discussed the hunt for a new sporting director and the competency of the candidates currently in the running.
“They are certainly all very experienced elements. They are competent people who have the value to be able to lift this Milan. In football, you need talent: to do this activity, if you don’t have talent, you can’t do it or you don’t do it well. Values exist, and you have to find the solution.”
It will be interesting to see if any of the chosen candidates can fix the current Milan, especially with some competence needed, as Braida states.
Braida is being diplomatic. The incompetence at ACM starts at the top, with the foolish owner who sacked Maldini and Massara 2 years ago, after they had steered the club to a Scudetto and a CL semi-final. The owner’s business model doesn’t allow ACM to be successful on the pitch. It’s about making money – not winning trophies at the highest level. A new owner with truly deep pockets, great ambition, and proven football management skills must take over the club, if it’s to return anytime soon to the glorious heights where it historically belongs.
Redbird out!
Nailed it

Many of us did. Got called Doom&Gloom squad because we were making common sense. Welcome to the club Braida.
For talents, Ask Furlani ! He knows it all 😀
@ MondoMilan I coulden’t agree more, the sacking of M&M was the begining of the downfall, and we were many who said so from the day of the sacking.
