Pellegatti: Why Bremer-Pobega swap could be a win-win plus what sources are saying

AC Milan and Torino could have a mutual interest in a Bremer-Pobega swap deal during the January window, according to one journalist.

Carlo Pellegatti has written in his latest column for MilanNews that Bremer could be a great signing as cover for the injured Simon Kjaer but also an important reinforcement in the event that Romagnoli does not find an agreement for the extension of his contract.

Pellegatti claims that on Monday afternoon he received a message from a reliable source: “From Turin they tell me that Bremer will go to Milan and Pobega permanently to Turin”. While he has no confirmation on this, it could be a win-win negotiation for both parties.

Meanwhile, given his contractual deadline of 2023, Torino do not want to risk seeing Bremer’s value depleted, while they could use him to enhance the possibility of signing a midfielder of undoubted quality who fits Juric’s system well.

On the one hand, Stefano Pioli would have a top defender who is fast, aggressive and knows the Italian league well. Milan have great esteem for Pobega but there is no absolute conviction that he can adapt to a two-man midfield.

There is a chance that Pobega himself would like to try and convince Pioli again next summer, but for now there remains no concrete confirmation that the deal is being talked about.
