Capello highlights the two reasons why Milan ‘suffered’ against Chelsea

Former head coach Fabio Capello has highlighted a couple of reasons why AC Milan struggled during their defeat against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Milan were pretty much inferior in all departments during their defeat against the Blues as they lost 3-0. A scrappy goal from Wesley Fofana in the first half set the tone and allowed Chelsea to settle, with a quick second half double from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James enough to seal a comfortable win.

It is yet another harsh lesson for the Rossoneri on the biggest stage after they won just one of their six group stage games last season, even though they had taken four points from their first two this time around.

Capello spoke to the media about the defeat that his former club Milan suffered the Champions League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with his comments relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“Absences certainly had an impact by reducing the possibility of bringing about freshness and quality through changes,” he began.

“But the difference was mainly traced by the pace and superior determination of the English side. In the Premier League this is normal, in Italy less so. In fact, Milan – who also play quickly in Italy – suffered.”
