After AC Milan ended their pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee, they have looked to Alvaro Morata to lead their line, and former manager Fabio Capello suggested that Rafael Leao take some inspiration from the Spaniard’s game.
The striker debacle has been strange, but Milan will look to ‘Mister X’ again. In the managerial search, several candidates were listed, and a mysterious figure titled ‘Mister X’ was heavily mentioned.
Once again, this phrase has been used in the striker search, and it has eventually become clear that in this case, the player in question is Morata, and things are progressing quickly with the Spaniard.
It has been reported that the Atletico Madrid striker is due for a medical this week, and with the news that his current club will not stand in the way of a move, a deal could be finalised soon.
With this in mind, Fabio Capello has spoken about the striker and Milan’s mercato in his column for Gazzetta dello Sport, and his words have been relayed by Milan News.
“Alvaro Morata is the right choice, I saw him pimping up even at the European Championship. But there are very few doubts about the Spaniard: he is a serious professional, good in his movements, never passive in receiving the ball.
“He will be useful to Leao, and I hope Rafa will take an example precisely from Morata in terms of commitment and involvement.”
