According to reports from La Stampa (via MilanNews), there are still ongoing talks between the Milan management and Leao’s entourage to extend his current contract, which will expire in 2024.
On the one hand his agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for an exit in the summer with Chelsea still the side that are ‘on pole’ to land the Portuguese winger having tried to sign him in January, which creates an issue for Milan.
However, on the other hand, the father of Leao would prefer for his son to extend with Milan. There is therefore a conflict of viewpoints between Mendes and Leao’s father, while the lawyer Ted Dimvula is also involved in the process and is likely to represent the interests of the family.
