CM: €8m Spurs offer and a distance to be bridged – Milan face a battle to keep star man

As the transfer window slammed shut yesterday night, AC Milan have still got a task to complete: renew Franck Kessie’s contract as soon as possible.

Given that Kessie’s contract expires in June 2022, there will be no rest for the management who – after sitting around negotiating tables over transfers for the past three months – must sit at the table again to try and finally reach an agreement over an extension.

Calciomercato.com writes how the ‘battle front’ is about to begin for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, who of course want to move forward together with the Ivorian midfielder given his immense importance to the squad, but there is a lot of distance between the parties at the moment.

With only four months left before the 24-year-old can sign a pre-contract with another club in view of the 2022-23 campaign and with Tottenham ready to make an offer of €8m net per season a to the player, the deal is anything but simple to manage and the race is on.
