CM: From potential counterpart to immovable – why Milan are holding on to Krunic

One man who has not been the subject of many recent headlines is Rade Krunic, and that is because AC Milan’s stance on him is clear.

According to Calciomercato.com Krunic is ready to start a new chapter with the Rossoneri, his third season, and is ready to make his contribution in a season full of commitments and expectations. A return of the Champions League beckons which means a more congested fixture list, and the Bosnia international is seen as a useful tactical element.

Of course there is a month left of the mercato and anything can happen, but the situation will not change unless there are surprises. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara tried to use him as a counterpart in talks with Udinese to get Rodrigo De Paul, but now Krunic is all set to remain.

Stefano Pioli is a big admirer of the former Empoli man as he is a hard worker, never a word out of place, always available and able to fill multiple roles on the pitch. He is a player that has no problem waiting for his opportunity and always gives everything, as well as being a player who loves Milan and has chosen to stay with the Rossoneri despite not being a first choice.

He earns just over €1m and has a contract until 2024 and that is just another reason why he will stay at Milan.
