CM: Giampaolo eyes Borini as alternative for the right-back spot

The derby is approaching fast and for Marco Giampaolo, there are still a few decisions to be made for the starting eleven. Mainly, the former Sampdoria manager will need to decide on a replacement for Davide Calabria, who is suspended following his red card against Hellas Verona.

The main candidate for the position is Andrea Conti, according to calciomercato.com, as the right-back would be a straight swap. However, the former Atalanta man hasn’t played much since he returned from injury, which makes him a question mark.

As the report continues, the game against Inter is a very important one for the Rossoneri, and thus Giampaolo could opt for a different solution. An alternative for the right-back position is the versatile Fabio Borini, who has played in that role before for the San Siro side.

It remains to be seen who will get the nod on Saturday evening, although one can assume that the fans would like to see Conti rather than Borini, as the latter has received criticism as of late.
